What We DoInspiringKids is a 501c(3) organization dedicated to facilitating education, environmental stewardship and philanthropy in a controlled and protected environment. Our MissionTo educate and empower every child to make a difference in local, national and global communities through environmental stewardship and student philanthropy. By tangibly improving the earth and communities, kids recognize the impact of their actions, take responsibility for improving the world, and proactively effect change over their lifetime. Our GoalTo make the InspiringKids program the cornerstone fundraising program in American elementary schools --regardless of socio-economic level and geographic location-- and give them a comprehensive, easy-to-implement, green fundraiser that encourages life-long civic engagement. How We BeganThe InspiringKids program grew from the simple idea of replacing a traditional nursery school fundraiser, involving a yard sale, with one that truly improved the community. Our initiative was a bulb-a-thon in which families raised money to create a bulb garden in the town park, where kids and parents often gather. The effort proved successful and provided the foundation for an easy-to-implement program that schools, parents and PTOs/PTAs can use to supplement or replace traditional fundraisers. Our Sponsorship for Stewardship fundraising program has grown to include environmental and social philanthropy components, as well as curriculum tie-ins, turning into a fully experiential-learning program. Our ImpactThe reach of our community is widespread. Not only will participation influence students and school communities nationwide, it will directly impact the non-profits that students support.
