Community SupportIn some ways we function like a community foundation. Community foundations are typically established to promote philanthropy and grant making to strengthen specific communities. Simply stated, these foundations allow adults (or organizations) within those communities to identify and meet the needs of those communities. Similarly, we promote philanthropy and provide grant making tools to schools to encourage our future philanthropists to begin thinking about giving in very concrete and tangible ways. However, if you are a person or organization with money to donate, once you identify a need you write a check. To bring these opportunities to all children- regardless of their socio-economic level- we need to provide ways for them to raise money so that they might meet the needs that they identify. To accomplish this goal, in addition to providing tools and structure, we bring together a variety of community interests (both for-profit and non-profit) who can effectively support the efforts of the students.
